Momo-i : Famison Stage 2

Yay! Momoi Halko is going to release a 2nd Famison album! Where Animetal's metal covers have departed, Momo-i's NES covers can take over...

The catalogue number is VGCD-86, it comes out on the 8th of June, and the tracklisting is here. I've put in my preorder!

Romanised tracklisting, courtesy of Suiko Eiji of the Animenation forums:

1. Majokko Meg-chan (from Majokko Meg-chan)
2. Banana no Namida ("Banana's tears" from High School! Kimengumi)
3. CAT'S EYE (from Cat's Eye)
4. Bara wa utsukushiku chiru (from Rose Of Versailles/BeruBara)
5. Koi ni B-kyu Action (from Sasuga no Sarutobi)
6. Ru. Ru. Ru. Russian Roulette (from Dirty Pair)
7. Youkai no Goyoushin (from Dororon Enma-kun)
8. Hana no Ko Lun Lun (from Hana no Ko Lun Lun)
9. Akubi-musume (from Hakushon Daimaou)
10. Midori no Hidamari (from Yama-nezumi Rocky Chuck)
11. Shin Obake Q-taro (from Shin Obake Q-taro)
12. Dare yori mo tooku he (from The Adventures of Tom Sawyer/Tom Sawyer no Bouken)
13. Suki Suki Song (from Himitsu no Akko-chan)
14. Bikke is a little viking (bikke wa chisana viking) (from Chisana Viking Bikke)
15. ~Teleportation Koi no Mikakunin ~ (from Esper Mami)

I'm particularly looking forward to Majokko Megu, Berubara & the 3 Horie Mitsuko songs in the middle (from Lun-Lun to Rocky Chuck), and the SukiSuki song. The SukiSuki song will work brilliantly as a NES song. I've had it stuck in my head for several days now. Here it is on youtube... it's the ending theme, so it's the 2nd half of the clip. ^__^

NES (NSF) anime cover versions

I've placed my preorder for the Momoi Halko album I mentioned yesterday. The cover of the opening song for 3000 Leagues in Search of Mother has really impressed me! It's just so appropriate; it sounds exactly like *going on a long journey in a classic RPG* music. This isn't a novelty track; it's proper artistic genre fusion, of two of my favourite genres of music (retro anime & retro videogame). I'm in love with this whole concept.

So I went looking, and discovered .nsf file cover versions of anisong and game music. *_* Oh, I'm so in love with this!

There's an archive here - the zip file plus everything in the "incoming folder". Music players are there too, in the "software" folder.

All sorts of anime, game, and, well, every other sort of music has been covered. There's a large range of anime songs; Cutey Honey, Sailor Moon, Ryvius, Masaru-san, Bottle Fairy, Soul Taker, 2x2=Shinobuden, Pretty Cure, Blue Seed, Lost Universe, Gatekeepers, Patlabor, Great Mazinger, Slam Dunk, Slayers, Suzumiya Haruhi... It's lots of fun. ^_^

I like the cover of Masato Shimon's Oyoge! Taiyaki-kun which is merged with the Final Fantasy 1 battle theme. ^_^

And.. yeah, Momoi Halko is the most geek-friendly idol *ever*.

Momoi Halko - Famison 8-bit

The official website for Momoi Halko's upcoming album "Famison 8-bit" is now open. The site's going too slow for me to hear any of the tracks yet! Tracklisting is here!

Covers of old anisongs in 8-bit Famicom style! What an excellent concept! *_*

EDIT: Wow, this is the best thing ever! It's even got a proper cover of Hajimete no chu! I need to pre-order this...
