I remember how Tokyopop - the manga publisher - bought up every manga license it could, then started funding non-Japanese manga, then there was much more material available to buy than there were fans with money to spend, then suddenly this publisher whose name had been everywhere was out of business.
I feel like recently, at least since they had a windfall through the hugely successful CLANNAD kickstarter they did, Sekai Project have been behaving the same way. I hope they don't suffer the same fate.
