Magical Eyes - Red is for Anguish (PC)
Is a visual novel that's just been announced as "Available: This Winter" by Fruitbat Factory.
Quote:
In the middle of the night on a certain day of April 201X, the right arm of the owner of a general store is chopped off in the backyard of his own store.VNDB
Even though he claims that the perpetrator is a 'doll' that was kept in the store, his words carry little weight due to the lack of other witnesses.
The doll and the detached arm are gone from the scene of crime.
“Like a light too strong may burn out one's retinas, so too can supernatural entities be toxic to humans. Even should they take on the invisible form of one's emotions.”
This is a mystery story about bizarre incidents unfolding around the town,
intermingled with a complicated mixture of human intentions.
Features:
- Gorgeous illustrations by a skilled, experienced illustrator
- Story painted in vivid colors by voice actors/actressess and musicians
- Computer generated 3D graphics of backgrounds and travelable maps
- A reasoning system that unlocks short stories and other bonuses depending on the number of your correct answers
- Targeted at all ages (with an ounce of horror elements)

Ghostlight have an interesting blog post up about the process of porting Japanese games to PC:

I've come across this one that might be interesting, but it's in development and has no dates set. It's called Dot Matrix Hero and is from a small indie studio in Tokyo; a team of three where the programmer is originally native-English speaking, so I'm thinking he'll probably also localise it.

The game is about an indie dev making a game. It sounds like it features a Hero Mode where you go and do your RPGing, and a Developer Mode where you squash bugs and change things.
I like games where you can change the mechanics of the game.
Some Nippon-Ichi games and Global A's RPG games have let you fiddle about with dungeon settings in the past, I really like that sort of thing. ^_^

Final Fantasy V (PC)
An enhanced remake of Final Fantasy V is coming out on Steam on the 24th of September. It's got some extra jobs, and they've redone the artwork as well. Sounds like the music is intact!
