The Men of Yoshiwara: Kikuya (PC)

It's an otome game just released on Steam.

Actually, the release date on the page on Steam appears to say 19 October 2015, but it seems to have already been released yesterday. It's totally buyable, and 40% off.

As far as I can gather, you play as a woman seeking male prostitutes in the area that used to be a huge government-provided red-light district in Edo (which is now where Tokyo is), back in the Edo period.

Which sounds like a much more to-the-point and historically fascinating setting for an otome game in historical Japan than the only other historical otome game I've tried reading (Hakuoki).

I think this is also the same game, on mobile, free to download with in-game purchases rather than just buying the game outright on Steam. It's under slightly different titles.

Kero Blaster (PC)

I mentioned this game the other day - it's just been announced for a release on Steam.

Available: 11 November

Three games announced by XSEED for release on Steam:

Xanadu NEXT
Little King's Story
Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus

No date more specific than "2016".

Downwell (PC)

Is now out on Steam. It's a little indie game by a fellow called Ojiro Fumoto.
Downwell is a curious game about a young boy venturing down a well in search of untold treasures with only his Gunboots to protect him.
You play as a little fellow who is falling down a well wearing gunboots on his feet that can launch him and shoot bullets down at the same time. You land on ledges to reload. He can also stomp certain monsters (but not all). There are little shops to visit in-game.

It's all black and white and red all over. Retro-style pixel graphics. Fast-paced, tight controls.

It costs £1.99 here in the UK, I am guessing maybe about $3 US?

OST (bleep bloop bleep)

Dungeon Manager ZV (PC)

This is a game for people who like their dungeon building / defending games to look like a spreadsheet.

I really miss the "Dungeon Maker" games on PSP, sigh. I wonder if we'll ever see a new Global A's game in English...

Mugen Souls (PC)

PC port of this Compile Heart game comes out tomorrow on Steam. It'll have a launch price that's 40% off.

Kagura Douchuuki (PC)

It's a roguelike. You control shrine maidens and battle monsters. The art is pretty.

Unfortunately, this game is heavily censored on Steam; the original version was all about youkai brutally raping shrine maidens - making them carry monster offspring or turning them into monsters too. That was the main draw of the game, and apparently the roguelike aspects are subpar. So I don't want to go anywhere near this game, in any form.

Harmonia (PC)

VisualArts have come to Steam!

Harmonia is up on greenlight.

Celebrating the 15th anniversary of Key, creator of CLANNAD, Rewrite and Angel Beats!, we release the English version of our new game, Harmonia! Even before Japan!

This is a story from a very, very distant era.
The world has suffered from a great war.
The contaminated atmosphere is turning ash gray, life on earth almost came to a stop and water started vanishing.
The world population has declined remarkably compared to the Golden age.
The people joined together to live in this world.

It was in these times, that a “Phiroid”, a robot that can feel, woke up in a decayed facility.
The fruit of science before the war, a humanoid, feeling robot.
They were promised a new partner, one that could make their life easier
But the awakened Phiroid finds out very quickly that he is emotionless.
Perhaps he was not finished during the manufacturing process, since his right hand is not covered with artificial skin, his mechanical parts visible.
The Phiroid boy wanted to get closer to humans.
And continued to wander through this devastated world, looking for the emotions he was missing.
One day, he was taken in by a girl.
She thinks of him as a human, and is kindly looking after him.
A little but warm town.
The Phiroid boy began learning what feelings are in living together with the girl.
