Japanese video game English localisation news - 97

Featuring:

Ray Gigant (PC)

Release date: 10th August 2016

This game is a hybrid; part first-person grid-based RPG, part visual novel, with rhythm game elements in battle, developed by Experience - who also made Demon Gaze, Stranger Of Sword City and Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy.

This game was released in English on Playstation Vita a few months ago. No word so far of whether there are any enhancements specifically for the PC port.

Spike Chunsoft - "what to bring next to Steam" survey

They are letting anyone vote, via Twitter:

The options are:
  1. 428: Fūsa Sareta Shibuya de
  2. Kenka Bancho Otome
  3. Kamaitachi no Yoru
  4. Shiren the Wanderer
I decided to vote for 428, not only because it is reputed to be very good and sounds mechanically interesting to me, but because it's the only option where I have no previous exposure to the series. I always like some Shiren, and I enjoyed Kamaitachi no Yoru in the form of "Banshee's Last Cry" on iOS, and (not too bothered about Kenka Bancho Otome) but 428 is "new" and that's worth so much more to me.

Yakuza 5 (PS3)

Is currently in this months' PS+. It took years to come out, and only got released as a full price game right at the end of last year, so this is a pretty big title for the PS+ subscription service.

Mobius Final Fantasy (mobile)

There's a new Final Fantasy mobile game. "The newest game from the team behind the main franchise!"

It only seems like half an hour since I started Brave Exvius, so I haven't bothered to look into Mobius yet.

Monster Monpiece (PC)

This card-battling Vita game, infamous for its card levelling mechanic where the player needs to furiously rub pictures of girls on cards, is coming to Steam.

Release window: "Fall 2016"

That's really all the new news on this title. It was already announced but there was no release date.

Oddly enough, several cards which were cut from the Vita version for being too risque will be included in the Steam version.

Let's Eat! Seaside Cafe (PC)

I only noticed this because it is by "Inu to Neko", the doujin group who also made "Dungeon Girl" which Fruitbat Factory have announced. It was actually released on 26th February 2016.

100% negative reviews (well, there are only 2 of them), complaining about the translation.

Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone’s Conspiracy (3DS, mobile)

The next Level 5 Layton game does not star the professor, but his daughter instead. The game has been confirmed for release in English in 2017. (Source)
