Japanese video game English localisation news - 69

Featuring:

  • Gahkthun of the Golden Lightning (PC)
  • Dark Souls III DLC
  • Kirby Planet Robobot amiibo Bundle (3DS)
  • Ray Gigant (PS Vita)
  • Gundam Breaker 3 - English language Asia version (PS4, PS Vita)

Gahkthun of the Golden Lightning (PC)

This is a visual novel by Liar-soft, who also made "Kindred Spirits On The Roof", which has been one of my favourites this year. Not that this game seems to be even slightly related! The Steam version is out today. It's still rated Mature according to the trailer on its Steam page.

Lightning crackles in the sky. A lone man hovers, overlooking The Academia. His name is Nikola Tesla, the one who will set this land right. With one assistant at his side, he shall face the council, overthrow the shadows in control, and rescue the unwitting students.

At first, I thought that "Steam version" would mean "censored version", since that's what "Steam version" usually means. However, this has been cleared up by the developer on the Steam discussions area FAQ for this game:

Q: How does the Steam Edition differ from the version available on MangaGamer.com?
A: In terms of actual game content, both versions are identical. The Steam Edition has a few minor cosmetic changes (namely the addition of "Steam Edition" to the title and ratings information at startup), but is otherwise identical to the version available on MangaGamer.com.

Gundam Breaker 3 - English language Asia version (PS4, PS Vita)

The Japanese-language Asia version is already out, but the English-language version comes out at the end of this month.

The UK-based shop Rice Digital has preorders open, so I'm getting the PS4 version. :D
