Japanese video game English localisation news - 106

Featuring:
  • Kingdom's Item Shop (3DS)
  • Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice (3DS)
  • Final Fight 1, 2 and 3 (Virtual Console: New 3DS)
  • ChronoClock (PC) (kickstarter)
  • Steins;Gate (iOS)

Kingdom's Item Shop (3DS)

A new little game from Circle Entertainment. This looks like fun; it's an RPG-world shop-running game, so fond thoughts of Recettear and Weapon Shop de Omasse spring to mind.

The battle system in this one looks to be party-based, side-view 2D sprites... Final Fantasy 1-6~esque.

This one is already out on the North American eShop priced at $5, and I read on a blog that it'll be out on the EU eShop this week (though I don't see it on Nintendo's European release listings).

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice (3DS)

Release date: 8th September 2016

A new Phoenix Wright game! With Phoenix Wright right there in the title! (though Apollo Justice is also on the cover art...)

This one appears to be eShop exclusive and priced at £24.99.

Final Fight 1, 2 and 3 (Virtual Console: New 3DS)

Virtual console SNES games - Capcom's old side-scrolling beat-em-up series "Final Fight". The first game in the series was an arcade game which was ported to SNES, and was so successful there that it spawned two console.only sequels.

Each of the three games is priced at £5.49 on the eShop.

See:

Alternatively, if you own some Playstation consoles and want to play some Final Fight..... head over to PSN and take a look in the retro sale they have on right now. For PS3, there's Final Fight Double Impact which contains the "ultimate version" of arcade Final Fight (and you also get Magic Sword thrown in) for £3.29.

If you have a PSP or PS Vita, I'd recommend getting the Capcom Classics Collection Remixed compilation on PSN, also priced at only £3.29 during this retro sale.

The arcade version of the game that doesn't have all the ridiculous censorship that the SNES version had.

ChronoClock (PC) (kickstarter)

Sekai Project are going to release this VN by Purple Software in English, no matter what. The deal is done, the translation is in progress. The video for the trailer is from last year, so I guess they have been working on it for that long.

However, they are still running a crowdfunding campaign - this is for people who want physical goods.

BTW this isn't the only Purple Software VN announced recently. The other was Hapymaher, which MangaGamer announced a few weeks ago.

Steins;Gate (iOS)

It feels like the popularity of Steins;Gate is growing all the time.

The English version of the iOS port is due to be released on 9th September 2016.

(I know Steins;Gate will reach many more people by being released on more platforms, but... I finished reading it ages ago! I'd rather see English versions of the spin-off Steins;Gate games!)
