Sonicomi ~ Communication with Sonico (PC)

When I think of Nitro+, I think of intense, dark, unusual stories. But with their mascot character... it's all very light indeed.

The Super Sonico boob-watching game is out now on Steam:

Tomoyo After ~It's a Wonderful Life~ (PC)

CLANNAD spin-off, out now on Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/462990/

ChuSingura46+1 S (PC)

It's a retelling of the 47 Ronin, but this time all the characters are cute anime girls.

The first chapter is out now for free on Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/464780/

Later chapters are forthcoming and will cost money.

An interesting article about video game rentals legal issues in the US

Historically, Nintendo vs Blockbuster, and due in part to the concept of renting video games just not existing in Japan.

Exile's End (PC, PS4, Vita, Wii U)

This is actually a game developed by an Australian man called Matt Fielding, but features:

  • Music From Keiji Yamagishi (Ninja Gaiden NES, Tecmo Bowl, Captain Tsubasa)
  • Art by staff from Secret of Mana,First Kiss Story, Mother 3, and more!
  • NES-style cutscenes by OPUS (Half-Minute Hero)
It's out on PC already via Steam, but is coming out on consoles.

It's a 2D platformer that is explicitly described in the small blurb on Steam as as NOT a Metroidvania, drawing from C64 and Amiga games. Looking at the art and gameplay, I'm thinking "Turrican", "Sacred Armour of Antiriad", and maybe "Cyberdyne Warrior", and I think I'd really like to play it on Vita!

Touhou: Scarlet Curiosity (PS4)

I missed this before. It's coming out "this fall", digital only, PS4. (source)

It's an almost-top-down 3D action RPG, and you can watch some gameplay with the XSEED folks at E3 here.

Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns (3DS)

Due to.. ah, some conflict of ownership of things, the games known as "Harvest Moon" are now getting released as "Story of Seasons" by Marvelous / XSEED.

Anyway, this one's coming out in US (I haven't seen anything about a European release).

Current Sales on Steam and EU PSN

The Steam summer sale is still on for the next couple of days. It hasn't been that great this year but there has been some good stuff included. http://store.steampowered.com/

There is a seriously massive "Big In Japan" sale going on, on EU PSN right now:
https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-gb/big-in-japan/cid=STORE-MSF75508-BINJ2016

Including some relatively new games at surprisingly low prices - especially in the Vita section. If you use EU PSN, I recommend you to take a look.
